Jennifer Eden imagines the kind of person who would live at the corner of Chinatown’s Keefer Street and Main: a liberal, social adventurer with an appetite for modern art, travel and cultural experiences.
This is a person who is most likely to see the beauty in an old heritage sign, or the gentle curves and details of Chinatown’s architecture.
This is a person who embraces even the smallest details of local history, the ethnic diversity and all the options involved in living a short walk from the False Creek seawall, downtown and Gastown.
“I think a Keefer Block resident is part of the genre that lives a curat-ed life,” says Eden, the principal of Occupy Design and the designer of the display suite for Solterra’s Keefer Block, a building in construction at the corner of Keefer and Main streets.
“They aren’t looking for excess; it’s quality over quantity. They want to be in a beautiful space, surrounded by objects that bring them joy.”
