More Homes Coming to Squamish Due to its Hot Real Estate Market

Vancouver, BC (September 29, 2014) – The real estate market has been booming in Squamish, BC this past summer in part due to low vacancy rates drawing investors

– recent reports indicate a 0% vacancy rate in the rental housing market in Squamish, accompanied with a migration of Lower Mainlanders setting up permanent residence in this beautiful outdoor haven. With the new Sea-to-sky Highway resulting in a 45 minute commute to downtown with no toll bridges, Vancouverites are discovering that Squamish is an economical and viable alternative to living in the City or alternate suburbs.

As a result, Solterra’s latest community of ‘Streams at Eaglewind’ was quickly snapped up by savvy buyers during construction.“Sales were so brisk and quick these last few months, we did not even have time to furnish a Display Home.”,

states Matthew McClenaghan of Solterra. “In addition, we fast tracked our next community of town homes, Nature’s Gate, to keep up with the demand”.

Nature’s Gate is comprised of 50 exquisite, contemporary townhomes – all 3 bedroom residences – set in the master-planned community of Eaglewind with majestic mountain views and backdrop of the Stawamus Chief. The community has won both provincial and national awards and is already home to over 200 homeowners in its Talon, Rockcliff and Streams communities. Nature’s Gate will be the fourth community in this 6 phase master-planned development. Eaglewind has been recognized by development and industry experts as an award-winning community due in large part to its quality construction, sustainable features, technical innovation and superior design; it features an array of amenities including an 11 acre public park adjacent to the Estuary, with private walkways and nature pathways, children’s playground, plant-able garden plots, lawn bowling area, and tennis courts. This community was the first of its kind in Squamish, with sophisticated interiors (that rival those found in our urban centres) and modern West Coast architecture, and is a flourishing and enjoyable place to live for those who want the best of both worlds – convenient access to the city and, also the outdoor beauty and recreational opportunities that BC offers.

“With Nature’s Gate, we realized that homeowners wanted the urban comforts and design features found in Vancouver, and as such, our interiors feature gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances (including a slide-in gas range), stone counters, and premium wood cabinetry. We have 2 gorgeous designer schemes – Glacier and Stone. Both are sleek and modern in the colour and material selections, but are balanced with traditional, warm design details like shaker style cabinetry and laminate flooring in key areas. One scheme is light and bright; the other more subtle and warm.” says Laura Rizzo, VP of Marketing at Solterra.

“We are just in the finishing stage of getting of Presentation Centre ready, and anticipate opening in early October”, adds Laura. For more information on the official Grand Opening of Nature’s Gate at Eaglewind, check out visit website,
